Honoring Women Who Are Making a Difference in Our Community

A strong community doesn’t just happen. It takes commitment and consistent effort from a group of dedicated residents and business partners. The work is sometimes fun – like the Dublin Irish Festival – and always rewarding. Volunteers and community leaders do not undertake these efforts, large and small, for glory or recognition. There are some women, however, whose contributions certainly deserve to be honored, and that is exactly what members of the Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club do each year.

The Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club hosts the Annual Gala, our signature fundraising event, in recognition of women who are making a positive and lasting impact on our community. Club members recommend area women who they respect and know, with club members determining each year’s honoree.

Members and friends gather to recognize women from our area who have contributed to the betterment of our community through philanthropic endeavors and a commitment to the Dublin community.

This Year’s Honoree — Rachel Dean-Haas

Rachel Dean-Haas’ passion for serving her community is at the heart of all her work. Her business, Dean Insurance Group, has built a thriving book of business one relationship at a time. For every referral received, Rachel makes a donation to a non-profit, evidence of the philanthropic thread that is woven throughout her career.

Rachel and her family started 5000 Acres, a produce farm dedicated to providing healthy and flavorful produce to local families, regardless of their means. In addition, 5000 Acres donates weekly to local food pantries in Plain City and Dublin.

Rachel has served on a diverse collection of boards including the Dublin Arts Council, the Historic Dublin Business Association, the Dublin City School’s Business Advisory Council and the Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club (DWPC). It was with the DWPC where Rachel leveraged her partnerships with other non-profits to collaboratively organize and execute mission-focused community events.
